A Parliamentary delegation from India, led by the Hon’ble Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Shri Harivansh Narayan Singh, was warmly received in Almaty by Mr. Zakirzhan Kuziyev, Member of the Senate of Kazakhstan. The high-level meeting featured constructive and forward-looking discussions focused on enhancing bilateral Parliamentary cooperation between India and Kazakhstan.
This significant engagement marked another step forward in deepening the longstanding friendship and institutional ties shared by India and Kazakhstan. Both sides reiterated their commitment to fostering mutual understanding and strengthening the framework of inter-parliamentary dialogue.
During their stay in Almaty, the Indian delegation paid homage at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, reflecting on the enduring legacy of the Mahatma and the shared values of peace, non-violence, and mutual respect that continue to guide India-Kazakhstan relations.
To honour the visiting Parliamentary delegation, Ambassador Dr. T. V. Nagendra Prasad hosted a special reception. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the Indian community in Almaty and featured engaging conversations on India’s vibrant democratic traditions, parliamentary functioning, and the ever-growing people-to-people connections between the two nations.
