Ms Shubhdarshini Tripathi met Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Foreign Affairs
of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Mr Murat Nurtleu today at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs.
During
the meeting, the parties discussed the state and prospects for the development
of the India-Kazakh strategic partnership, and also exchanged views on topical
issues of bilateral cooperation. They expressed mutual interest in further building
up mutually beneficial trade, economic, investment and technological
cooperation between the two countries.
The
increase in trade between the two countries, which reached $2.5 billion in
2022, was noted with satisfaction. It is a third year consecutively when
bilateral trade has crossed USD 2 billion mark.
The
parties also discussed the participation of the Kazakh delegation in the
upcoming meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai
Cooperation Organization (SCO), which will be held on May 4-5 this year in
Panaji, Goa.
