Independence Day of India 2024
The Embassy of India, Astana celebrated the 78th Independence Day of India on 15 August 2024 at the Embassy Residence in Astana. The celebrations began with the hoisting of National Flag of India by Amb. Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad, Ambassador of India to Kazakhstan, followed by the recitation of the Indian National Anthem and reading out of the Address of the Hon’ble President of India to the Nation. The function was attended by the Embassy officials, members of Indian community and Kazakh friends of India.
In run up to the Independence Day, received good response to # Har Ghar Tiranga, # Dekho Apna Desh campaigns among members of the Indian community.
The Kazakh and Indian guests were enthralled by wonderful performances by the artists of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre which included patriotic songs, Kathak Dance and Garba, popular dance forms in traditional colourful costumes and accompaniments. The atmosphere was filled with joy and feeling of patriotism with these wonderful performances on the stage. The stage presentation ended with the felicitation of artistes by Ambassador Prasad and Madam Mrs. Padmavathi. About 100 Indians and Kazakh friends attended the event.
On the occasion, delicious Indian food was served.
A similar function of Flag Hoisting marking the 78th Independence Day of India was organized at the ROI Almaty in which about 100 members of Indian community participated and the national flag was hoisted by Mr Swapnil Kothawade, Second Secretary(Cons).
