Official Visit of Secretary (ER) to Kazakhstan
(May 20-21, 2024)
Shri Dammu Ravi, Secretary (Economic Relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs, paid an official visit to Astana, Kazakhstan on May 20-21, 2024.
2. In Astana, Secretary (ER) represented the Government of India, in the meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers on 21 May 2024. Before the start of the meeting, he participated in the meeting of Foreign Ministers of SCO member states with the President of Kazakhstan Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in the Presidential Palace ‘Ak Orda’.
3. The Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting discussed preparations for the upcoming Summit of the SCO Council of Heads of State, reviewed ongoing cooperation in SCO, and exchanged ideas on regional and global developments of common concern.
4. During the visit, Secretary (ER) held separate meetings with his counterparts from SCO Member States namely Deputy Foreign Minister of Russian Federation Mr Andrey Rudenko and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Mr Mehdi Safari.
5. Secretary (ER) also met Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr Kairat Torebayev. Both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral trade and investment.
