Secretary (Economic Relations) Shri Dammu Ravi met Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Mr Mehdi Safari on the sidelines of SCO Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting today in Astana.
Hon. Chief Justice of India, Dr Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud met with his Kazakh counterpart H.E. Aslambek A. Mergaliev in Almaty to review India-Kazakhstan judicial cooperation. He also visited the City Court in Almaty.
Secretary (Economic Relations) of the Ministry of External Affairs Mr. Dammu Ravi participated in the meeting of Foreign Ministers of SCO member states with the President of Kazakhstan Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Akorda.
The Head of the Indian delegation Shri Dammu Ravi, Secretary (Economic Relations) was welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu at the Meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers in Astana on 21st March 2024.
Secretary (Economic Relations) Mr. Dammu Ravi met with the Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kairat Torebayev in Astana. The parties discussed possible ways of cooperation between India and Kazakhstan to develop and increase bilateral trade.
Ambassador Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad met with HE Mr. Zhenis Kassymbek, Akim (Mayor) of Astana and his team to discuss issues of mutual interest to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of education and culture.
As part of the #TazaKazakhstan campaign in Astana, Ambassador H.E. Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad along with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H.E. Murat Nurtleu, HOMs of other countries, Mayor Talgat Rakhmanberdi and Embassy officials, Indian and Kazakh community members planted trees near the Mahatma Gandhi monument in the Baikonyr district as part of the "Zhasyl Aimak" eco-week. Yoga was performed and Indian and Kazakh food and snacks were savoured by the participants.
The 5th Meeting of the India-Kazakhstan Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism was held in Astana. The sides exchanged views on counter-terrorism measures, potential threats in the region and coordination of responses including the use of new and emerging technologies.
Ambassador Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad participated in the Eid festivities in Almaty, hosted by the newly formed Board of Indian Chambers of Culture & Commerce (Incham), Kazakhstan.
Ambassador Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad interacted with Indian Medicos who joined this year at various medical universities in Almaty at the orientation program organised by the Indian Embassy.
During the visit to historic Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute, Almaty Ambassador Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad had productive discussions on potential India-Kazakhstan collaborations in space research.
The grandeur of the 75th ICCR Foundation Day was celebrated at Astana Medical University with dignitaries Ambassador Dr T V Nagendra Prasad and Mr Kamalzhan Nadyrov, Chairman of the Board and Rector of the AMU.
